Guangzhou - Oct 2014 What to eat in Guangzhou? 1) Wuzhan Ji 伍湛记 Wuzhan Ji Restaurant, a traditional restaurant since early 1900s, is famous for serving No. 1 scholar porridge - Jidi zhou ( 及第粥) . This porridge contains pork, pork liver and pig powder. Why is this porridge so famous? In short, an illiterate butcher went for imperial examinations and only wrote 7 chinese characters that all he learnt on the exam paper. Just so happened the quizmaster was the teacher who taught him how to write pork, pork liver and pig powder. The teacher was so glad that the butcher has made a marvelous article for him and gave him a pass. People who the exam and get a position in the court meant Jidi. From then on, people called that kind of porridge Jidi Porridge. Until today, people who are going to have an important exam will have a bowl of Jidi porridge as a symbol of good luck. Japan - Kyoto : Fushimi-Inari Shrine

Japan : Kyoto - May 2015 Day 4 We have been seeing people wearing kimonos (usually only girls) on the street and we managed to find a rental shop a few stops away from our apartment hoping to rent for the day. However, we were too last min and this rental shop required an appointment. SO SAD! Actually we were quite happy that I did not mange to rent the kimono before we visit Fushimi Inari Shrine otherwise I would be died of walking all the stairs~ So pretty neh~ 800yen each to write wishing. These are Omikuji - fortune telling paper slips found at many shrines and temple Omg Japanese are so creative! My favourite is the man in sunglasses in the middle. This is the start of the torii gates. I angled this photo so that I could cut away all the heads because there was a filming going on and we were stuck there for a while. I am recently back from Hokkaido for already 2 weeks already but I am and still missing their snowing weather, seafood and their soft serve ice cream! I love this below picture as it depicts two of us as one facing our unforeseen future together so I decided to make this as canvas wraps from Vision Bedding to hang on our upcoming house! I also ordered a bag with fireworks picture that I took during our SG50 national day. I love it when we could use our own pictures which are more meaningful to us. I am very looking forward to the products!! From now on, it will be peace and ice cream against the world.
